The measured results using a Hewlett-Packard HP8753D network analyzer are shown below:

The gain measurements (S21) show a remarkably close comparison to the simulated results. The measured gain is within a fraction of a dB of the predicted gain and the overall response shape is identical over the entire 500 MHz sweep.
The sweeps of S11 and S22 show a similar close comparison to the simulation. Plots of S11 and S22 on the Smith Chart are very sensitive to the actual transmission line lengths used on the physical circuit. On the prototype, line lengths were approximately 1 inch on FR4 board.
